Assistance is available to Columbia Township residents who meet federal poverty standards, as adopted by the Columbia Township Board. Those who live outside the township may apply for assistance within their own township. Those who live outside Columbia Township can click the link below titled "Whitley County Township Information" to reach out to their respective trustee.
Assistance is provided based on need, up to $400 in 12 months for shelter, utilities and medical. Funeral assistance is available up to $600.

Apply online via the link above, or visit the Columbia Township fire station at 22 E Radio Rd, Columbia City, to pick up a paper application. Applications are located in the mailbox. After an application is completed, contact the trustee at (260) 244-0045 for an in-person meeting to discuss your siuation. At that time, it will be determined if you qualify for assistance. Keep your application and paperwork until your meeting.
